Stress Corrosion Cracking occurs in corrosion during metal recombination due to the internal stress and the residual stress. So the corrosion test is significant to measure the strength, stiffness, toughness and resistance of metal in high temperature.
SSRT (Slow Strain Rate Test) is used to measure metal corrosion and change caused by inner stress or residual stress while stress corrosion cracking. Slow stain rate test is a method of testing of materials, often metals, in which the specimen is subjected to elongation at a constant rate.
